111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It's fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

 

Out of Hours Service

Barnet Federation GPs Service is available 7 days a week, Monday – Friday between 18:30 – 20:00, Appointments are also available on weekends from 08:00am – 20:00pm, to book an appointment please call 020 3948 6809.

Please telephone Barndoc on 020 8865 0350. At all other times please phone 111.

 

Walk-in Centres for Minor injuries are

  • Edgware Community Hospital, Burnt Oak Broadway Edgware HA8 OAD, Tel: 020 8732 6891
  • Finchley Memorial Hospital, Granville Road Finchley N12 OJE, and Tel: 020 8349 9152.
 

Accident and Emergency

The Royal Free Hospital also has an Accident and Emergency Dept. The general telephone number for the RFH is 020 7794 0500

How NHS 111 works

You answer questions about your symptoms on the website, or by speaking to a fully trained adviser on the phone.

You can ask for a translator if you need one.

Depending on the situation you’ll:

  • find out what local service can help you
  • be connected to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist or GP
  • get a face-to-face appointment if you need one
  • be told how to get any medicine you need
  • get self-care advice
